Beautifully hand carved archtop Mandocello. The entire instrument (neck, top, back, & sides) in Mahogany. Front and back plates each carved from a single piece. Ebony headstock and fretboard, with mother of pearl & abolone inlay. Body dimensions taken from a 1904 Gibson K-2 (1904), which desperatly needed a longer scale to give the low strings the tension needed to sound amazing. This one made with a 27” scale (same as some cellos) accomplishes that goal. The longer scale also works for a lighter guage string set. Surprisingly light instrument weighing in at a mere 4.1 lbs. Tuning same as cellos with a low C. Dimensions: width 15 3/4, sides 3 1/2”, scale 27”, nut width 1.46”
